The factory sample, in public.

The first production-spec unit arrived in Tempe on October 8, 2026. This is the log: what happened on which day, what was measured, what is still pending, and every phone photo and clip, with the two disclosures that go with all of them. It gets a new entry each time something is measured or decided.

Two things every photo and clip below has in common

  • The screen is Carl's. The impact screen hanging in this unit is the founder's own Carl's screen, used as the bridge while the production screen is in test. The production screen gets 500 strikes on camera before it is committed to, and the footage posts either way.
  • No netting on the unit. Some concept renders on the details page still show lower netting; the photos are the truth. None is planned.

What happened, by day

  1. Delivered

The sample arrived in cartons by parcel carrier, no freight truck or pallet. Carton count and weights get published from this unit once they are measured, not estimated. The base plates in the cartons were not the ones specified; that is noted below and is being corrected for production.

  2. Built and folded

First assembly in the two-car garage, one person. Deployed to the full bay, then folded flat against the wall for the first time, on video (the 6x clip below). Four phone photos: deployed straight on and at an angle, folded edge-on with the retention strap, and folded with the screen still standing. The fold was not timed; the first fold of any unit is about learning where the hands go.

  3. First round, and the folded depth measured

A round played inside it with GSPro on the projector. Then the measurement that matters for parking: folded, with the base plates that shipped, the package stands about 20 in off the wall. That is the number on the spec sheet today. Production bases get a U-slot so the two frames nest closer, to a design target of about 12 in, and that figure stays a target until a production unit is measured. The deploy-and-fold take (the 4x clip below) and the photos with the car parked beside the folded unit are from this day.

What has been measured, and what is still pending?

One number has been measured on this unit so far: the folded depth as shipped. Everything else that matters is listed below as pending, in words, until it is measured.

Real footage

The three clips.

Every clip is unedited footage of our own units with the speed change burned into the picture. Two are the factory sample; the third is the July prototype, kept here because it is the only timed fold so far.

First fold · Oct 10 · shown at 6xNot timed. The July prototype's 45 seconds is July's number and does not transfer to this unit.
Deploy and fold, one take · Oct 11 · shown at 4xNot timed. The fold time of this unit is published when the median of timed cycles is measured.
July prototype · first-ever fold · shown at 4xFull speed: 45 seconds, timed on camera, first attempt. This is the July prototype, a different unit from the factory sample.
Phone photos, not renders

Every photo of the sample.

Eleven phone photos across two days, unaltered. Where the site shows a version with the garage clutter removed by software, it is labeled “background cleaned” and the product itself is untouched; those versions are linked from the caption.
